To address the need to provide housing and facilities for low-income families, RA 7279 or the Urban Development and Housing Act of 1992 , Section 18, requires that every developer of subdivision projects to develop an area for socialized housing equivalent to at least twenty percent (20%) of the total subdivision area within the same city or municipality, whenever feasible, or total subdivision project cost at the option of the developer. New guidelines have broadened the modes by which developers can comply with this requirement.
